The Palm Sunday in Parma

Today, 13 April 2014 is the Palm Sunday. I participated in the mass at the St Cristina Church. We know that today is one of the specials Sunday. Tomorrow we enter at the Holy Week. The time for preparing the Easter on the next Sunday.

I have a unique experience today. I carry the holy cross during the procession. The procession starts from the Church of St Antonio Abbas. All the flock also participated in this procession.

Father Luciano open the procession with praying in the church. Before, we give the palm to all the flock that attend this procession.

Then we go out from the church, walk at the same streets, passed through the Orthodox Church. This is the St Marry of Magdala Church. Now, this is the Orthodox Church. The diocese of Parma gives this church for the orthodox people in Parma. We stop here for praying together. The Catholics pray the Our Father and then the Orthodox pray this praying in their language namely Romania. Then we continued our procession until we entered at the Church of St Cristina.

At this procession, I saw some people that make the Sign Cross after they sawn the holy Cross. I am admiring see it. Really, I do not think to meet these people. I am happy because I trust that they make this sign after know that Jesus appears at the holy Cross. They make this sign at the street, at the window of their apartment where they can see the holy cross. The young man and the old man.

In the mass, I read the gospel, the Passion of the Lord together with my friend Martina and Simon. Really, I am happy to read this. I seldom hear this read but I am never reading at the public, at the church when the mass. Today, I am very happy. I read very well because I have prepared for two days. I read more than four times.

The God Loving for Lazarus

I write this article after reads the text of John 11:1-45 at Sunday, 6 April 2014. The text tells about Jesus, Lazarus, and his sisters Martha and Marry. Lazarus and his sisters come from Bethany.  Jesus was there when he met them.

There are LOVE among Jesus, Lazarus, Martha and Marry. Jesus loves Lazarus. Martha and Marry said, “Master, the one you love is ill”. They know that Jesus loves their brother, Lazarus. They want to say Jesus about the Lazarus’s condition.

Lazarus really is ill.  And, at the end, after 4 days Lazarus is dead. Martha and Marry know that Lazarus is dead. But, Jesus said to them and to his disciples that Lazarus is sleep. He told them, “Your brother will rise.”

Martha believes in Jesus’s word. Jesus then said, “I am the resurrection and the life, whoever believes in me even if he died, we live…. ” The end, Lazarus is live. Jesus makes him get up from the tomb. Lazarus comes out of the tomb.

I like 3 words in this story. There were Love, Believe, and Live. Jesus Loves Lazarus, Martha, and Marry. Jesus gives Lazarus live. I think these words are important for us.  I want to spread these words to my friends, LOVE, BELIEVE, and LIVE.

Now, I can See

the picture by Adam Geitgey
“Now, I can See”. This is the phrase of the blind man at the pool of Siloam (The reading for Sunday, 6 April, 2014). Yes he is a blind man. He always waits someone to help him. Jesus helps him. Jesus opened his eyes.

The blind man said that Jesus—for him—is a prophet. He believed in Jesus and said, “Now I can see.”

I attend the mass at St Christina’s church. I try to heard the preaching of Father Luciano but I can not take the point. He used the words that have the meaning in level theology so that I can not understand well. My friend Simon and Mrs Angela teach the children today.

I think the blind man is a symbol of our blind. I have the eyes, but I cannot see. There are many things inside me, but I cannot see its. I am a blind man.

Sometime I do not care to the people that do not have. I see them on the street, at the out of the church, and so on. But, I do not want to give them of mine. One euro is enough for them. So that, I am a blind man that cannot see.

But, I want to like the man blind at the Pool of Siloam. I want to like him and say, “Now, I can see.”

In this Lent time I want to see the others. I want to see all things beside me. I think Jesus give me all this for me see. Thanks God. (Gordi)
